He was predeceased by: his parents, Ervin Smith and Edith Smith (Poore); his daughter Cassie; his siblings, Ed Smith, Bob Smith (Elinor) and Alice Hill (Bob); his siblings-in-law, David Bishop and Marge Smith; his mother-in-law Ida Bell Meirath (Marvin); and his nephew Jeff Bishop.
He is survived by: his wife Jayne; his son Allen Smith of Omaha; his brother Jerry Smith of Fremont; his nieces, Debbie and Doris; his great-niece Shania; his nephew Dennis; his cousin Chet Mizner; and his siblings-in-law, Dennis Bishop (family: John Bishop, Brenda Sedlacek, Mike Bishop) and Sally Howe (Jim). He is also survived by his family; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins.
Memorials are suggested to the family's choice in care of the mortuary.
