He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Schoen and Katie Gronewold Schoen; his son Russell; his grandson Phillip Schoen; his brother Arnold Schoen; his parents-in-law, Ehme and Jennie Busboom; and his brothers-in-law, Gerald Busboom, Gerald Buss and Wilfred Parde.

He is survived by: his wife Anora of Beatrice; his children, Denise Boardman (Larry) of Lincoln, Burdette Schoen of Lincoln and Andy Schoen (Patty) of Adams; his daughter-in-law Gail Schoen of Beatrice; his grandchildren, Aaron Schoen (Kylee), Anthony Schoen (Lindsay), Sabrina Glynn (Josh), Ciera Semlak (Ben), Katie Arp (Bryce), Bridget Murkle, Kyle Schoen, Holly Murkle and Hannah Schoen; his great grandchildren, Elizabeth Patterson, Nora Glynn, Kenley, Kace Schoen, Kolton, Ava Schoen, Gauge and Maksym Semlak; his stepgreat-grandchildren, Connor Semlak, Austin Baldwin, Kaden, Rylee and Tayler Glynn; his sister Geneva Parde of Adams; and his siblings-in-law, Marie Schoen of Adams, Marlene Busboom of Adams, Betty Buss of Beatrice, Rosie Miller (Kenny) of Adams and Ronald Busboom (Verla) of Cortland. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
