He was predeceased by: his mother Alice Gnadt; his stepfather Chet Gnadt; his father Robert Shasteen; his brother-in-law Tom Millard; and his nephew Andy Millard.
He is survived by: his wife Monica Millard of Beatrice; his children, Anne Wallman (Mike) of Lincoln, Michelle Schneider (Jim) of Bellingham, WA and John Shasteen (Monica) of Salem, OR; his grandchildren, Derek Wallman (Haley), Brandon Wallman, Kyle Wallman (Breann), Cody Shasteen (Angellica) and Toby Shasteen; his great grandchild Ryker Wallman; and his siblings-in-law, Kibby Millard (Vicki), Mary Beth Bassett (Roger), Jim Millard (Jane), Sue Millard, Joe Millard (Leanna), Margi Berghel (Hal) and Martha Bohling (Greg). He is also survived by cousins and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial has been established to St. Joseph Catholic Church and School of Beatrice.
