He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald Carney and Claryce Carney (Glenn); and his sister Julia Carney. He is survived by: his son William "Billy" Carney (Courtanie) of Beatrice; his granddaughters, Jaylynn, Raychel and Kiyana Carney; his siblings, Michael Carney (Saundra), James Carney (Michelle) and Kerry Carney; his nieces, Kalie Carney and Madison Carney; his nephew Tylynn Carney; and also Joan Sander.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to the family's choice.
