He was predeceased by: his parents, David Kassing and Mathilda Kassing (Bossart); and his brothers, Chester Kassing (Margaret) and David Kassing (Celeste). He is survived by: his wife Joyce Payne. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Memorials are suggested to the First Christian Church, Disciples of Christ or American Heart Association in care of the mortuary.
