He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Bede and Marguerite Bede; and his siblings, Betty, Gerald, Robert, Edward and Phil.

He is survived by: his wife Mary Ann Francisco; his children, Randy Bede and Sandi Carstensen (Rod); his grandchildren, Andrew Carstensen (Shannon Amirie), Molly Carstensen and Jake Carstensen; his great grandchild Sophia Carstensen; and his sister-in-law Jean Francisco. He is also survived by many nephews, nieces other relatives and friends.
