It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Melvin D. Bodtke of Beatrice, Nebraska, born in Gilead, Nebraska, who passed away on March 1, 2024, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Bodtke and Lydia Bodtke (Gerberding); his wife Shirley Asche; his brother Bill Bodtke; and his brothers-in-law, Jess Trias and Jim Peacock.

He is survived by: his sons, Dennis Bodtke (Sally) of Lincoln and Duane Bodtke of York; his grandchildren, Amanda Cades and Evan Bodtke (Jessica); his great grandchildren, Bria Cades and Jaffari Huls; and his sisters, Florence Trias of Tucson and Alice Peacock of Lee's Summit, Missouri. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Memorials are suggested to family's choice in care of the mortuary.
