Maxine Wicks Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Maxine Wicks of Beatrice, Nebraska, born in Beloit, Kansas, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on July 16, 2024 at the age of 94. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Maxine Wicks to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Melvin Carrico and Cecilia Carrico (Knaup); her sons, James Lee and Robert Joseph; her husband Delmar; her siblings, James, Albertine Konzem (Felix), Cecilia Ludwig (Joe), Virginia Lichtenberger (Bill), Joseph Carrico (Vivian) and Carol Moritz (Louis); and her brother-in-law Lynn Wicks (Dorothy).
She is survived by: her children, Michael Alan of Bennet, Nebr., Mary Elizabeth of Hanover, Steve of Bennet, Nebr., Tom Wicks of Bennet, Nebr. and Pat Wicks (Jeanne) of Lincoln, Nebr.; her daughter-in-law Dee Wicks of Council Bluffs; her grandchildren, Jamie Fritz, Tyson, Kale Wicks, Mindy Sandvick, Nate Wicks, Jenny Dorland, Gabriel Strnad, Shane, Shannon, Matthew, Alayna, Jacob, Katelyn and Andrew Steckelberg; and her sister Janet Sparks (Dan) of Salina, Kans.. She is also survived by 16 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
Maxine continued community involvement in Bennet, serving several years as president of the local American Legion Auxiliary as well as holding active memberships with the Bennet Builders and Bennet Foundation organizations.
