He is survived by: his wife Beverly of Beatrice; his daughters, Krista Smith (Andy) of Lincoln and Heather Lukens (Jerry) of Lincoln; his grandchildren, Ben of Lincoln, Grady Smith of Lincoln, Drax Vanover of Lincoln and Kayla Marshall (Garrett) of Lincoln; his great grandchild Ava Marshall of Lincoln; his brother Neil Schafer (Gail) of Lubbock, TX; and his siblings-in-law, Shirley Frerichs (LeRoy) of Beatrice, Larry Hartog of Chandler, AZ and Roger Hartog of Lincoln. He is also survived by numerous other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to the family for future designation.
