He was predeceased by: his parents, Lammert Fritzen and Bertha Fritzen; his wife Helen Leners; his parents-in-law, John and Dora Leners; his great grandchildren, Carter and Owen Vrbka; his siblings, Angeline Johnson (Walter), Marie Stevens (Jack), Johann Fritzen, Tobias Fritzen (Clara), John Fritzen (Bernice) and Raymond Fritzen (Joyce); and his brothers-in-law, Freddie Roschewski and Herman Williams.
He is survived by: his children, Susan Vrbka (Dan) of Eagle, Beverly Spang (Mike) of Cortland, Duane Fritzen (Judy) of Filley and Stanley Fritzen (Denise) of Beatrice; his grandchildren, Shelly Steffensmeier (Joe), Derek Fritzen (Alycia), Ashley Peterson (Andrew), Chris Vrbka, Adam Vrbka (Heather), Jennifer Heusinkvelt (Ethan), Jared Spang (Tyra), Blake Darby (Jeanina), Brandon Darby (Jessica), Jake Vrbka (Becky) and Stacy Yslas; his brother LaVern Fritzen (Irene); and his brother-in-law Ronald Leners (Betty). He is also survived by 23 great-grandchildren.
A memorial has been established to the family for future designation with Mike and Traci Baehr in charge.
