Irene V. Folkerts Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Irene V. Folkerts of Beatrice, Nebraska, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on February 17, 2025 at the age of 92. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parent Gerd Stevens; her husband Edwin Folkerts; her son-in-law Tony George; her parent Gretje "Maggie" Stevens (Meints); her siblings, Lammert Frerichs (Margaret), Ehme Stevens (Arlene), Irwin Stevens, Abbie DeBuhr (Harm), Tena Busboom (John), Gertrude Jurgens (Dick), Marie Ideus (Siebend) and Mildred Ewald (Richard); her parents-in-law, John and Lena Folkerts; and her siblings-in-law, Leon Sullivan, Elmer Folkerts (Emile) and Darlene Bernhardt (Paul).
She is survived by: her children, Larry Folkerts of Beatrice, Alan Folkerts (Kim) of Beatrice, Bob Folkerts (Cheryl) of Beatrice, Betty George of Beatrice and Diane Folkerts of Lincoln; and her grandchildren, Chris George, Jeremy Folkerts (Jenny), Aaron Folkerts (Holly), Amber Lovitt (Jason), Todd George (Kim), John Folkerts, Jason Folkerts (Joni) and Michelle George. She is also survived by ten great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, February 20th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM at the Fox Funeral Home & Cremation Services (1116 N 19th St, Beatrice, NE 68310). A prayer was held on Friday, February 21st 2025 from 10:15 AM to 10:30 AM at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church (5142 E Sargent Rd, Beatrice, NE 68310). A funeral service was held on Friday, February 21st 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
