She was predeceased by: her parents, Caroline Hillman (Kietzke) and Emil Hillman; her stepfather Hank Grosshans; her husband Orville Schmidt; her sister Edna Wall Neesen; her husbands, Irvin and Heiko; her brothers, Ralph (Irene), Arthur (Bev), Glenn and Earl; and her stepbrother Robert Grosshans (Marge).
She is survived by: her children, Darrel (Gail Schmidt), Iris (Harlan Hintz) and Karen (Ron Powell); her grandchildren, Amy (Ken Evans), Ryan (Ashley Schmidt), Casper Hintz, Catrina (Brandt Schaefer), Zach (Alyssa Powell) and Josh Powell (Jennifer Heywood); her great grandchildren, Austin, Isiah, Rayna, Kingston and Trison; her great great grandchild Ella; and her siblings-in-law, Norma Hillman, Fred Schmidt and Marvin Schmidt (Helen). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
