He was predeceased by: his parent Friedricka Zimmerman (Rosenthal); his wife Helena Oltman; his daughter Maxine Freese (Allen); his parent Renken Zimmerman; his siblings, Arthur Zimmerman (Evelyn), Ernest Zimmerman (Marilyn), Minnie Wolken (Herman), Emma (Fred), Riensche Dorn (John), Edith Jobman (Bill) and Dorothy Busboom (Jerry); his parents-in-law, Harm and Minnie Oltman (Duitsman); and his sisters-in-law, Marie Frey (Marvin) and Eileen Damkroger (Henry).
He is survived by: his son Dean Zimmerman (Karen) of Beatrice; his grandchildren, Kris Blecha (Kevin) of Steinauer and Derek Zimmerman of San Diego, CA; his great grandchild Andrea Deters (Jeff) of Rochester, IL; and his great great grandchild Oliver Deters. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established to the family's choice.
