She was predeceased by: her mother Stephanie; and her sister-in-law Sarah Novotny. She is survived by: her daughter Stephanie; her husband Jay Schulz of Beatrice; her daughters, Britt Schulz-Rhodes (Brandon) of Hewitt and Ginger Schaaf (Kurt) of Lacey, Washington; her grandsons, Alex and Conrad Schaaf; and her brother John Novotny (Dawn Jobman) of Odell. She is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established to the Beatrice Humane Society.
