She was predeceased by: her parents, Marcella Schmidt (Ford) and Virgil Schmidt; her husband Joseph Oria; her sister Marilyn Coker (Schmidt); her parents-in-law, Braulio Oria Bolivar and Agapita Pellon of Oria; and her brother-in-law Luis Oria.
She is survived by: her daughters, Elisa Marie (Ryan Austin), Angelita Marie and Kristina Maria; her grandson Logan Dovenbarger; her siblings, Lamar Schmidt (Verneta), Carol Stern (Layton) and Joyce Leppink (Allen); her siblings-in-law, Braulio Oria (Mary Jane) and Maria Oria; and her pets, Willie, Sunny, Thor and Rocky. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and two great-great nieces.
The lying in state was held on Tuesday, February 4th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM at the Griffiths-Hovendick Chapel (708 N 6th St, Beatrice, NE 68310). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Wednesday, February 5th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Joseph's Catholic Church (612 High St, Beatrice, NE 68310). Visitation was held on Wednesday, February 5th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at the American Legion (701 Dorsey St, Beatrice, NE 68310).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the family's choice for future designation with the funeral home in charge.
