He was predeceased by: his parents, Marie Henrietta Rinkel (Lehman) and Herman Rinkel; and his siblings, Leo Rinkel and Viola (Hansen). He is survived by: his children, Susan Friedel (Larry), Debra Praeuner, Timothy Rinkel (Beth), Allen Rinkel (Susan), Lisa Shepherd (Jason), Orin and Marjorie.
