It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Erika V. Moxley (Bartley, Nebraska), who passed away on July 21, 2024, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Friedrich Kureija and Elisabeth Vogler; and her son Howard T. Moxley. She is survived by: her daughters, Heidi L. Gilbert and Lynn; her children-in-law, Bruce Schutte and Kimberly Moxley; her grandsons, Thomas Schutte (Katie), Georg Schutte, Trévon Gilbert and Tanner Moxley; and her great grandchildren, Shayda, Greer and Emrick Schutte.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Patriot Paws in memory of Erika, whose life was defined by service and compassion.

“I served with Erika over the course of several years, she was one hell of a soldier and knew how to kick butt and take names, an honorable trait in our world. As I was headed out the door I promised her a tour in Korea, she did the Army Proud as she did in all her assignments. A true professional soldier and I am proud to call her a friend. As she enters the pearly gates I can hear her yell, stand too there is new Sheriff in town. God Bless you SGM. Jack Rucynski, 7th CSM, US Army Reserve.”
