He was predeceased by: his siblings, Don Nelson, Bob Nelson, Jane Robinson, Joyce Vahle and Jerry Nelson.
He is survived by: his children, Paul Nelson (Lisa) and Penny Lane (Jeff); his grandchildren, Erika Yoder Topeka (Luke), Jordan Nelson and Jake Nelson; and his siblings-in-law, Mary Nelson, Bonnie Nelson, Lola Ross and John Vahle.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are to the Jim Nelson Scholarship Fund for aspiring seniors at TCHS in education, nursing, or Christian Education.
