It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Kathleen Akerlund of Aurora, Nebraska, born in Lincoln, Nebraska, who passed away on October 28, 2020, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Lowell Pierson and Ruth Pierson (Pape); and her siblings, Roger Pierson and Karen Schmidt. She is survived by: her husband Richard Akerlund; her children, Kelly Brown (Ron Lubarsky) of Scottsdale, Jennie Kuehner (Bill) of Aurora and Tricia Moyer (Mike) of Norfolk; her stepson Todd Akerlund of Dallas, Texas; her grandchildren, Elena, Garrett Kuehner of Aurora and Pierson Moyer of Norfolk; her siblings, Marilyn Baily and Elton Pierson (Mona); and her siblings-in-law, Mel Schmidt and Sheryl Matthes (Rick). She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Due to Covid-19 the current CDC guidelines will be followed and face masks are required.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be to Lutheran World Relief or Messiah Lutheran Church.
