He was predeceased by: his parents-in-law, Donald Rhoads, Judson and Anita Griffith; and his siblings-in-law, Jerry Rhoads and Marlyn Friesen.

He is survived by: his wife Donita Rhoads; his sons, Kirk Friesen (Margaret) of Wolbach, Don Friesen (Lanette) of Grand Island, Gaylan Friesen (Veronica) of Hampton and Stacey Friesen of Aurora; and his siblings, Arlo Friesen of Aurora, Rendy Friesen (Verda) of Aurora and Rogena Jantzen (Gerald) of Beatrice. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Memorials may be made to the family to designate at a later date.
