He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert W. Behrends and Adele L. Behrends (Antholz); his stepmother Lydia; his daughter Carolyn Eltiste; his siblings, Melvin (Lena), Clarence (Lorene), Orval (Ora), Chester (Doris) and Lenora Remmers (Glen); and his stepbrother Alister.
He is survived by: his children, Corrie Thies of Lewiston and Craig; his children-in-law, Lori Behrends of Auburn and Russ Eltiste of Tecumseh; and his grandchildren, Russell, Jr. Eltiste (Christine), Nicole Straka (Girard), Jennifer Dodson, Jamison Thies (Penny), Blayne Behrends (Bonnie), Michael Behrends (Daleen) and Stacy Benham (Terry). He is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
