John N. Schmit Obituary
We are sad to announce that on November 16, 2022, at the age of 101, John N. Schmit of Atkinson, Nebraska passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Nicholaus Schmit and Elizabeth Schmit (Olinger); his grandchildren, Eric and Stephanie; and his siblings, Michael, Nick, Richard, Raymond, Ben, Clarence, Mary Ann Osborne, Betty Myers, Leona Troshynski, Rose Mary Schmit and Eleanor Jones.
He is survived by: his wife Eileen Schmit of O'Neill; his sons, Melvin Schmit (Patricia) of Grand Island, NE and Tom Schmit (Linda); and his siblings, George Schmit (Udonna) of Atkinson and Catherine Steinhauser of Stuart, NE.. He is also survived by 12 Grandchildren, 20 Great Grandchildren and 3 Great Great Grandchildren.
