She was predeceased by: her parents, Earl Carter and Florence Carter (Becker); her husband Ernie; her son Edward Earl; and her sisters, Louise Ganz and Carolyn Holmquist.
She is survived by: her children, Ernest Clark Gotschall (Cindy), Ellen Jayne Johnson of Holdrege, Audrey Jo Samuelson (Brian) of Polk, Dr. Jeffrey Carter Gotschall (Tammi) of Columbus, James Douglas Gotschall (Leann) of O'Neill and Dr. Matthew Ray Gotschall (Michele) of Grand Island. She is also survived by twenty-two grandchildren and twenty-eight great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, Jayne requested memorials be directed to Atkinson Friends of the Library Foundation or donor's choice.
