With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Marian J. Schake of Amherst, Nebraska, born in Litchfield, Nebraska, who passed away on November 9, 2022 at the age of 99. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Cornford and Ruby Cornford (Maywald); her husband Arthur Schake; her son Arthur Schake Jr.; her granddaughter Heather Sears; and her sister Edythe Johnson.
She is survived by: her children, Janene Schake of Kearney, Cheryl Smith of Kearney, Kent Schake of Denver, CO and Larry Schake of Kearney; her grandchildren, Michelle Bower (J. J.), Sandy Polhemus (Brian), Heath Schake (Tracy), Grady Schake (Marian), Tyler Schake (Kara), Mattie Bell (Justin), Neleigh Bolin (Paul) and Shannon Schmidt; and her sister Edna Geisert of Kearney. She is also survived by 20 great-grandchildren; 1 great great-grandchild.
Memorials are suggested to Pumpkin Patch Pre-School and Daycare at First United Methodist Church or the Amherst Fire Department.
