He was predeceased by: his mother Dona 'Eskilsen Freeman; and his parents-in-law, Melvin and Thelma Buchholtz. He is survived by: his wife MelRae Buchholtz of Ames; and his children, Justin Freeman (Paige) of Fremont, Liam, Kari Reeg (John, family: Dylan, Delaney) of Genoa and Melissa Schnell (Stuart, family: Kirsten, Dakota) of Fremont.
