He was predeceased by: his parents, Oscar Ross and Elizabeth Ross; his brother-in-law Calvin Capstick; his daughter Rita Peters; his sisters, Wilma Ross and Evelyn Ferguson (Orville); his brother-in-law Gill Atchison; and also, Earl and Florence Capstick.
He is survived by: his wife Carol J. Capstick of Almena, Kansas.; his son Rodney (Tonda Ross) of Republican City, Nebraska; his son-in-law Rod Peters of Colby, Kansas; his granddaughter Robin Faber of Colby, Kansas; his great grandchildren, Kaitlynn Faber of Manhattan, Peyton and Tyler Faber of Colby, Kansas.; and his sisters, Phyllis Halderman (Lynn) of Alma and Loretta Atchison of Phillipsburg, Kansas. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and a wide circle of friends.
A memorial has been established in Maynard's honor, with contributions kindly suggested to the Harlan County Health System of Alma and the Colonial Villa Good Samaritan Society of Alma.
