John D. Schluntz Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John D. Schluntz (Alma, Nebraska), who passed away on July 2, 2020, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his brothers-in-law, Gene Moser and Gene Hauschild; and his son-in-law Terry Hays. He is survived by: his wife Nancy Schluntz of Huntley; his children, Joe Schluntz of Huntley, Sally Hays of Alma, Susan Konert (Mike) of Huntley and Patty Oppegard (Jim) of Lincoln; his grandchildren, Sadie Oppegard, Casey Oppegard (Jackie), John Oppegard, Sarah Thompson (Bryan), Amanda Van Kirk (Paul), Olivia Garske (Andrew), Chase Konert, Tanner Hays (Ashley Nelson), Hannah Hays (Jimmy Sindelar) and Haley Hays (Ian Uhrich); his great grandchildren, Silas, Molly Thompson and Colson Van Kirk; his siblings, Roger Schluntz of Albuquerque, Esther Moser of Houston, Texas, Marilyn Falk (Ken) of Fort Collins, Colorado and Beth Sayers (Bob) of Colorado Springs, Colorado; his sister-in-law Mary Jo Tangeman (Emmett) of Falls City, Nebraska; and also Carol Hauschild of Lincoln. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other extended family and friends.
Due to health concerns, regarding the COVID-19 pandemic; current CDC and Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services guidelines for Faith-Based Services and Gatherings will be followed.
A memorial has been established in John's honor, and kindly suggested to the People's City Mission in Lincoln or to the Christian Sojourn Haiti Fund of Holdrege.
