He was predeceased by: his mother Ruth Ann Hoffmann (Lotspeich); his stepparents, Arlen "Ole" Magnuson and Jeanette Hoffmann; and his grandparents, Paul, Mabel Lotspeich, Victor and Frances Hoffmann.
He is survived by: his close friend Kerry Hickey of Alliance; his children, James Reynolds (Abby) of Lincoln, NE and Cassidy Hoffmann (Witt Clark) of Alliance; his granddaughter Aubrey Clark of Alliance; his father Thomas Hoffmann of Nenzel, NE; his siblings, Mary Beth Fergus (Dave) of Silverdale, WA and John Hoffmann of Alliance; and his half-siblings, Thomas Hoffmann (Stephanie) of Lincoln, NE and Jennifer Schoon (Lealand) of White River, SD. He is also survived by 10 nieces and nephews.
