He is survived by: his daughters, Christina Hammermeister (Don) of Munster and Jaimie Hernandez (Abraham) of Watkins, Minnesota; his siblings, Doreen Pizzato (Joseph), Denise Grasser (Dan) and Robert Schleyer; and his close friend Lynne Black Messersmith. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren.
