It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gary L. Bolek (Alliance, Nebraska), born in Rushville, Nebraska, who passed away on May 26, 2023, at the age of 75, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe Bolek and Edna Bolek; and his siblings, Dewayne, Larry, Melvin, Jerry, Harold, Judy Taylor and Pat Bauer.
He is survived by: his wife Vikki Vogel; his children, Tara Gibson (Ken) of Alliance, Lacey Kugler (Kyle) of Parker, CO, Bridget Tupa (Aaron) of Lincoln, NE and Bradley Bolek of Hay Springs; his grandchildren, Dion Gibson, Aiden Bolek, Atley Bolek, Teegan Tupa, Sierra Gibson (Sam Bartek), Madison Gibson, Emily Finney (Doug), Brextyn Bolek, Braekli Bolek, Larkin Tupa and Bellamy Tupa; his great grandchildren, Amelia Gibson and Couric Bartek; his stepgrandchildren, Justin Gibson (Candice), Mike Gibson (Keri), Branden Gibson (Winter), Valoree Schmidt (Chris) and Chris Gibson (Kyren); and his brothers, Richard Bolek (Carolyn), Joe Bolek (Judy) and Lynn Bolek. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be given to the Hemingford Volunteer Firefighters Association, Local VFW or American Legion.
