He was predeceased by: his parents, William H. Nye (Bill) and Retta Nye (Simpson); his siblings, Bob (Bessie) and Doris (Chuck Sulzbach); his niece Lori Holmberg (Doyle); his parents-in-law, John and Esther Christensen; his sister-in-law Mary Jane McCrery; and his niece Rhonda Champion.
He is survived by: his wife Jelinda; his son Barry; his daughter-in-law Gretchen; his grandson Cody; and his sister Darlene Doyle (Jim) of Gregory, SD. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to Regional West Hospice, or to the family for designation to the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission for hunter safety education.
