He was loved and cherished by many people including : his parents, Robert Nissen of Wayne, NE and Marlene Nissen (Hoffman); his wife Brenda of Allen, NE; his son Benjamin Nissen (Megan) of Arlington, NE; and his grandchildren, Gabriella, Madelynn and Olivia.

Visitation was held on Monday, June 17th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Munderloh - Smith Funeral Home - Wakefield (803 Oak St, Wakefield, NE 68784). A memorial service was held on Tuesday, June 18th 2024 at 10:30 AM at the Salem Lutheran Church (501 Winter St, Wakefield, NE 68784).
