Dean Smith Obituary
We are sad to announce that on January 26, 2025, at the age of 76, Dean Smith of Allen, Nebraska passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Desmond Smith and Martha Smith; his siblings, Richard, Desmond Jr., Terry, Alan, Robert, Douglas and Marsha; his parents-in-law, Heye and Inez Gronewold; his siblings-in-law, William Micek and Tonia Smith; and his niece LaVonne Marie.
He is survived by: his wife Marlene Smith; his children, Kelli Smith and Bradley Smith; his grandchildren, Aidan Smith, Ethan Smith and Kaitlyn Smith; his siblings, Lin Smith (Mary Lou), Randal Smith, Dennis Smith (Theresa), Christine Micek, June Grovesnor (Bob) and Michelle Heinemeyer (Jeff); and his sisters-in-law, Gayle Smith, Mickey Smith, Susan Smith, Elayne House (Mike) and Janet Denekas. He is also survived by many cousins, nephews, nieces, and friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, January 30th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home (510 Oak St, Wakefield, NE 68784). A prayer was held on Thursday, January 30th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Friday, January 31st 2025 at 10:30 AM at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation.
