He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Prothman and Pauline Prothman (Borer); his daughters, Judy, Elaine Prothman and Donna Anderson; his son-in-law Roger Kotas; his great grandchild Hope Albrecht; and his siblings, Elizabeth, Martha Prothman, Alberta Cremer, Josephine Wolfe, Rose Schwenke, Rita Ramaeker, Harold, Edward and Joe Prothman.
He is survived by: his wife Clareen Nienaber; his children, Daniel (Jackie) of Albion, David (Jane) of Albion, Jane Roesler (Mike) of Malcolm, Lori Wagner (Steve) of Pierce, Carol Kotas of Wilber, Arlene Neidhardt (Scott) of Albion and Nancy Gasper (Dale) of Columbus; his son-in-law Bob Anderson (Betty) of Fremont; and his sister Mildred Preister of Lindsay. He is also survived by 22 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren, numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
