She was predeceased by: her parents, Duane "Shorty" Lough and Nina Mae Lough (Fleek); her stepmother LaVerne Lough; her husband John Smith of Michael's Catholic Church; her daughter Sue Hetherington; her children-in-law, Norman Henn and Kimberlie Smith; her siblings, Vyron Lough (Connie), Delwyn Lough (Jean) and Nina Lee Meyer (Darrell); and her brother-in-law Robert E. Smith (Marie).
She is survived by: her children, Lonnie Smith (Dawn) of Albion, NE, Terri Schmitz (Bob) of Albion, NE, Dan Smith (Joni) of Central City, NE, Jill Zoucha (Tim) of Loretto, NE and Jane Wallin (Barry) of Newman Grove, NE; her son-in-law Harold "Skip" Hetherington of Lincoln, NE; and her brother-in-law Brian Becklun (Pam) of Elgin, NE. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, March 10th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the St. Michael's Catholic Church-Albion (524 W Church St, Albion, NE 68620). A wake will be held on Monday, March 10th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, March 11th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
