She was predeceased by: her parents, Herman Buss and Tena Buss (Jurgens); her husband Vernon Schlake; her son-in-law Robert Kracke; her siblings, Dallen Buss, Dorothy Thompson (Fredrick) and Eleanor Ideus (Wilfred); and her brother-in-law Miley Schlake.
She is survived by: her children, Dennis Schlake (Sue) of Lincoln, Vergene Kracke of Wilber, Marcia Astleford (Brad) of Pleasant Hill, MO, Janice Jacobsen (Bill) of Adams and Susan Jeffrey (Donnie) of Omaha; her grandchildren, Jerod Schlake (Gina), Dustin Schlake, Stacy Ford (Bryan), Eric Kracke (Annette), Lana Musil (Daryl), Shaun Kracke, Andrew Astleford (Lauren), Lindsay Hill (William), Brandon Jacobsen, Nicole Brown (Brandon) and Caleb Jeffrey; her siblings, Kenneth Buss, Richard Buss (Carol), Arlene Schlake, Darlene Penner, Marilyn DeBuhr (Melvin) and Karen Schmidt (Don); and her sister-in-law LaVona Buss. She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to Christ Lutheran Church of Pickrell and Gold Crest Retirement Center in Adams.
