He was predeceased by: his parents, Emanuel Schauer and Caroline Schauer (Ketterling); his wives, Elma and Joyce; his siblings, Emilia, Magdelina, Anne Marie, Pauline, Lydia, Bertha, Ruth, Richard, Theodore and Vernon; his stepson John Reiland; his stepson-in-law Leo Krein; and his stepgrandson Bill Reed.
He is survived by: his brother Gilbert Schauer (Audrey) of Longview, WA; and his stepchildren, Beth Rudolf (Curt), Nancy Sperling (Tom) and Paul Reiland (Tammie). He is also survived by several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
