It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Steve Samek in Wimbledon, North Dakota, who passed away on February 11, 2025, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, James Samek and Mary Samek (Zastoupil); and his siblings, Valentine, George, Laudie, Wensel, Bernard, Benny Samek, Georgie Ann Cherney, Mary Albrecht, Mildred Clarys, Margaret Haugen and Patricia Cherney.
He is survived by: his wife Karen Ann Steffen of Edmore, ND.; his children, Michael Samek (Mae) of Fargo, ND, MaryAnn Ault (Greg) of Maple Grove, MN, Lisa Rogers (Dave) of Sparks, NV and Karla Jackson (Brandon) of Minnetrista, MN; his grandchildren, Aleisha, Alex, Sierra, Megan, Carson, Zachary, Annalise and Alexis; his great grandchild Ava; and his siblings, Frank Samek (Deb) of Fargo, ND, Bertha Lorenz of Fond du Lac, WI and Vitres Samek of Blue Earth, MN. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A rosary will be held on Friday, April 25th 2025 from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM at the St. James Basilica (622 1st Ave S, Jamestown, ND 58401). A Mass will be held on Saturday, April 26th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
