He was predeceased by: his parents, James Samek and Mary Samek (Zastoupil); and his siblings, George, Wenzel, Laudie, Valentine, Mary Albrecht, Mildred Clarys and Georgie Ann Cherney.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Samek; his children, Jacky Adams (Mike), Bonnie Fretheim (Erik), Ron Samek (Kari), Ken Samek (Dani Duffy) and Matt Samek (Michelle); his grandchildren, Samantha, Haley Sayler, Kerstyn Kutz-Samek, Luke Samek, Ashley, Jayden Samek, Michaela and Lawson Adams; his stepgrandsons, Josh and Nick Fretheim; his stepgreat-granddaughter Kianna Fretheim; and his siblings, Frank, Benny, Steve, Vitres Samek, Patricia Cherney, Margaret Haugen and Bertha Lorenz. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
