He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman Garaas and Alice Garaas (Anderson); his mother-in-law Lorna Gnoinsky; his brother-in-law Ronnie Gnoinsky; his uncle Olaf Garaas; and his aunt Ellen Bommen.
He is survived by: his wife Sharon Garaas (Gnoinsky); his children, Christine Grevious (Darin), Travis Garaas, Jeremy Garaas and Jeffery Garaas (Amanda); and his siblings, Jeannie Maupin, Susan Melby, Lee Garaas (Karen), James Garaas and Frank Garaas (Pam). He is also survived by twelve grandchildren, three great-grandchildren.
