He was predeceased by: his wife Donna Louise Howard; his mother Evelyn Sorensen; his stepfather Hank Sorensen; his father Christian Haugen; and his close friend Leon Houglum.

He is survived by: his brothers, Punk and Dick; his child Terrill Haugen (Lorena) of Williston, ND; his grandchildren, Joy of Washington, DC and Isaac; his daughter Katherine Haugen of Williston, ND; his grandson Jackson; his daughter Charlotte Haugen of Fort Worth, TX; his grandchildren, Maggie Mae Nieves (Richard) of Fort Worth, TX, Evalyn, Olivia and Anthony Nieves; his son Christian Haugen (Kelly) of Fort Worth, TX; his grandchildren, Katie of Fort Worth, TX, Mitchell Haugen (Nikki) of Gold Canyon, AZ and Evelyn; and his siblings, Leonard Haugen of Ridgecrest, CA, Punky Haugen (Jo), Richard Haugen (Patty) of Forsyth, MT and Charlotte Dehnert (Jeep) of Lander, WY. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and lifelong friends.

Memorial Contribution In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Williston Trinity Christian School (Williston, ND), St. Joseph's Catholic School (Williston, ND), or Hospice (Williston, ND).
