He was predeceased by: his parents, Teddy Isaac and Martha Ovidia Eidsvig Strinden; and his siblings, Ione, Marcelle, Keith, Osmund Alfred and Theron Strinden.
He is survived by: his wife Catheleen Leona Wallgren Strinden; his children, Susan Hall (Lyle), Nathaniel (Annie), Kirsten Juhl (John), Selah Stebbins (Ryan), Maren Nodland (Nathan), Bennet, William (Sarah), Ernest (Gabriela), Edward, Emily Flett (Evan), Daniel (Elizabeth), Carol Hineman (William), Joel (Megan), Bridget Coleman (Judah) and Jared; his brothers, Earl (Jan) and David (Ella); and his sisters-in-law, Cleone and Mavis Strinden. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
