He was predeceased by: his parent Vivien Hammer (Chilson); his grandparents, Rudolph, Agnes Chilson, Edward, Serine Hammer and Myrtle Hammer; his father Henry Norman Hammer; his parents-in-law, Gordon and Herma Axness; his brother Howard; and his sister-in-law Carol Axness.
He is survived by: his wife Judie; his sons, Chadley and Justin (Jamie) of Minot, ND; his grandchildren, Jory Bright and Martine Hammer; his sisters, Judith Hammer of Bismarck and Susan Schneider (Dalles) of Bismarck; his nephews, Austin Schneider (Shannon) of St. Croix and Kael Schneider of Portland, OR; his niece Kari Schaff (Casey) of Flasher, ND; his great-nieces and great-nephews, Colton, Carter, Cannon, Chance and Kenzie; his aunts, Mary Ann Hammer, Pennie Hammer and Connie Lindahl (Albert); and his siblings-in-law, John Axness (Gayle) and Marcia Liuska (David).
