He was predeceased by: his parents, Marius Sorum and Anna Sorum (Renstrom); his wife Mavis J. Thompson; his daughter Charlotte; his grandson Paul; and his siblings, John Sorum, Lillian Swenson (Glen), Thelma Petersen (Orluf), Marvin Sorum and Kathryn Erwin (Elmer).
He is survived by: his sons, Kim Sorum (Joanne) of Bowbells, ND and James Jay Sorum (Marlene); his granddaughters, Bridget Ryberg (JR) and Heather Braaflat (Jordan); and his great grandchildren, Abby Ryberg, Violet, Gracie Jo and Opal Braaflat. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
