He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Schmidt and Margarette Schmidt (Puhr); his siblings, Rosemary Johnson (Harold), Dennis and Maynard (Carol); and his nephews, Brian and Chris Schmidt.
He is survived by: his brothers, David Schmidt (Susan) of Alice and Tim Schmidt (Lori) of Alice; and his nieces and nephews, Renee, Tom Estell, Jason Schmidt, Michelle, Dave Samuelson, Danny, Magda Schmidt, Sam, Jackie Schmidt, Jennifer, Donny Weiker, Michael and Amber Schmidt.
