He was predeceased by: his parents, Lloyd Belling and Hazel Belling (Sorenson); his sisters, Gail and JoAnn Simpkins; his siblings-in-law, Dorothy Belling, Michael Rosales and Mike Stice; his father-in-law Ardell Bergrud; and his pet Bailey Bichon.
He is survived by: his wife Denise Bergrud; his children, Kim Crist (Mike) and Chris (Donny O'Brien); his pet Buffy Marie; his siblings, Harvey Belling (Leonette), Iverne Birklid (Richard), LeRoy Belling (Ruby), Arlys Sorby (Kermit), Gerald Belling, Shirley Rosales, Ellen Stice and Cheryl Belling; and his mother-in-law Beverly Bergrud. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and family members/close friends.
He also served on the ND Veterans Home Foundation Board and was named the Red River Valley Hometown Hero in 2018 which he was very proud of.
