He is survived by: his children, Terri Olson (Roger), Timothy Schmitt (Sherry), Thomas Schmitt (Linda), Rebecca Leidal (Kevin), Miriam Hildre (Scott), Heidi Vansteenburg (Jeffrey), Sonja Casperson (Kent) and Margaret Young (Jon); and his sister Ida Schmitt. He is also survived by 24 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
