With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Fran Gerszewski of West Fargo, North Dakota, born in Valley City, North Dakota, who passed away on September 27, 2023 at the age of 75. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Fran Gerszewski to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Puhr and Ester Puhr (Weber); his sister MaryJane; his granddaughter Mackenzie; his stepgrandsons, Carter and Easton Supler; and his siblings, Lorraine Tjon, Leona Humphrey and Leanard Puhr.

He is survived by: his wife Janet Lautt (Vetter); his children, Sheila Brezina and Steven (Kristi); his stepchildren, Jennifer Norton (Robert), Sarahanne Skwiera (Taylor) and Tanner Lautt (Mary); his brother Michael; and his foster sister Angeline Anderson. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren, 7 step grandchildren.

He made sure we had our required blocks checked, and he gave us all the best possible work environment. Some of my best memories of the 119th were in POL.
