He was predeceased by: his parents, Dennis A. Unger and Eleanor A. Unger; his daughter Jill; and his brother-in-law Harley Smith. He is survived by: his wife Jean Buchholz of Audubon, MN; his daughters, Jenny Nielsen (Dan) of Grand Rapids, MN and Joni Unger (Robert Griffin) of Dilworth, MN; his stepchildren, Kirstin Steinke of Moorhead, MN and Kelley Kulesa (Jeff) of Treynor, IA; his grandchildren, Blake (Chase Nielsen), April Backen-Unger, Brittany Stepp (Colton), Austin (Alyssa Kulesa) and Halle (Tanner Gregoire); and his siblings, Derek Unger (Tammy), Dawn Smith, Debbie Heisler (Tom), Danette Olstad (Dean) and Darla Sanford (Ken). He is also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.
