He was predeceased by: his parents, Gustav Rued and Mildred Rued (Ingebretson); his wife Shirley Jean Weisz (Samson); his brother Robert; and his siblings-in-law, Joyce Jerikovsky, Jack Jerikovsky, H. D. "Duke" Samson and Richard Samson.
He is survived by: his children, Scott Daryll (Leah) of Eden Prairie, MN, Teresa Lynn, Ryan Robert (Katina) of West Fargo, ND and Teri Frederick of Chanhassen, MN; his sister Karen McConnell (Gordon) of Humble, TX; his sisters-in-law, Pat Samson of West Fargo, ND and DeVonne Samson of West Fargo, ND; his grandchildren, Andrew Frederick, Joseph Rued, Amy Davis (Ben), Alex Rued (Kerry Jones), Amanda Severin (Zach), Tyler Rued and Callie Rued; and his great grandchildren, Wyatt Rued, Everson Davis and Jovie Davis. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Faith-Journey Lutheran Church.
